Editors
KARI DUNN BURON, M.S., recently retired after
33 years of working as a special education
teacher in the public schools. Kari is the
designer and coordinator of the autism spectrum
disorders certificate program at Hamline University
(a graduate program for educators) in the
Twin Cities. She is one of the founding members
of the MN Autism Network, a statewide network
of ASD educational consultants. In Kari developed
and continues to work as the coordinator for
Camp Discovery, a camp for youth with Asperger
Syndrome. Kari has given national and international
presentations on a variety of topics concerning
ASD. She is currently working with the Hearing
and Service Dogs of Minnesota to create guidelines
for using dogs as co-therapists.
PAMELA
WOLFBERG, Ph.D., is associate professor of
special education at San Francisco State University,
where she developed an autism spectrum graduate
program. Her current research and practice
focus on supporting children with ASD in the
areas of peer relations, play, childhood culture,
and social inclusion. As creator of the Integrated
Play Groups model, Pamela leads efforts to
develop inclusive peer play programs at the
local, national, and international level.
Pamela is in frequent demand as an invited
speaker at conferences around the globe. She
is widely published and the author of numerous
peer reviewed articles, chapters and books.
